August 21, we inspected a soybean field to estimate the harvest yield, but were surprised to find that the pods had started to split. This signaled to us the urgent need to start harvesting with a combine, even though approximately 10% of the soybeans were still immature. The extremely hot weather (+35°C) accelerated the pod splitting and resulted in significant crop losses.
I'm curious about the experts' forecasts for soybean, soybean meal, and soybean oil prices in 2024.
As it turned out, after unloading the first truck, our concerns were justified. About 10% of the beans were still green, but soybeans have the property of after-ripening in storage.
